As we race closer towards Christmas and as the Appeal phase of our Football for Good Fund (FFGF) continues, Celtic FC Foundation share a reminder with supporters about two of our remaining Appeal events – Light Up the Clover and Christmas Appeal Bucket Collection – and humbly ask for your continued backing by either volunteering or making an invaluable donation.

Light Up the Clover will take place on Thursday, December 9, ahead of Celtic’s UEFA Europa League clash with Real Betis (8pm KO). The event will once again see the Kerrydale Clover, adjacent to The Celtic Way, illuminated by LED candles placed in memory of loved ones, with the first being placed in honour of our founding Father, Brother Walfrid.

For a minimum donation of £2, candles will be available to purchase between 6pm-8pm on the night from our volunteers, who’ll be located at the Clover, on The Celtic Way and at other key entry points around the stadium, so please look out for them on your way to the match.

For those who cannot make it to the game, candles can still be purchased HERE via our eBay site, up until 5pm on Thursday, December 9 and these will be placed on the Clover by our volunteers on your behalf.

Our once-a-season Bucket Collection will take place at Celtic Park on Sunday, December 12, ahead of Celtic’s Cinch Premiership encounter with Motherwell (3pm KO).

Our collection, which will once again be planned in collaboration with our Supporters’ Committee, will see 120 volunteers with buckets located around the Stadium from 1pm until kick-off.

For those supporters not carrying cash who wish to make a donation, a volunteer collector will be based at the top of the Celtic Way, offering contactless payment.

And on the same matchday as our Bucket Collection – Sunday, December 12 – the North Curve will also be hosting a Christmas Toy Drive in support of three local charities.

We have an allocation of complimentary match tickets for the Cinch Premiership game against Motherwell and will distribute these to all volunteers who require one. However, we unfortunately will not be able to provide complimentary tickets for volunteers for the UEFA Europa League game against Real Betis.

Proceeds raised will be devoted to our 2021 Christmas Appeal. We want to give hundreds of families in our communities the Christmas they deserve, making sure there’s food on the table and gifts under the tree.

We also wish to help pensioners, women and children in refuge, the homeless community and refugees – as well as a whole host of others facing poverty and hardship.

Charity, and the generosity and compassion of the Celtic family, will always be our past, present and future – it’s our heritage, our responsibility, our lifeblood.
