Celtic Sleep Out London, 2021

Celtic Sleep Out London returns to St Anne’s Primary in Whitechapel

December 3, 2021

Having announced our Celtic Sleep Out Glasgow event last week, Celtic FC Foundation are delighted to follow up today, with the launch of our 2021 Celtic Sleep Out London. For the fourth time, it will take place at St Anne’s Primary in Whitechapel on Friday, December 3.

With restrictions unfortunately hindering our ability to host the event last year, we’re extremely excited to welcome supporters back for another wonderful night under the stars at St Anne’s, which holds huge historical and emotional significance for the Celtic Family.

In 1892, five years after his leading role in the formation of Celtic Football Club, the Marist Order moved Brother Walfrid from Glasgow to the Whitechapel area of London’s East End. Over the next 15 years, as Head Teacher at St Anne’s Primary, Brother Walfrid transformed the school and also established local boys’ clubs and a project to provide meals to the poor in the local community.

Participants will spend the night – from 9.00pm to 5.00am – battling the elements outdoors, all for a wonderful cause.

Registration is now open and you can sign up HERE. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The non-refundable registration fee is £30 per person. Please ensure you read the Terms and Conditions thoroughly before committing your agreement and signing up.

Due to anticipated severe weather conditions, this event will be exceptionally challenging, both mentally and physically. Therefore, participants must be aged 18+ and be in an appropriate physical condition to take part.

Celtic FC Foundation will provide a ground mat and foil sheet/blanket but participants are required to bring the appropriate equipment and wear relevant clothing and footwear.

Each participant is tasked with raising a minimum of £130 (after entry fee) and all funds raised will support our 2021 Christmas Appeal, which reflects the very essence of why our club was set up back in 1887.

The Appeal will help to bring the magic of the festive season to children, families, pensioners and others who are struggling at an especially challenging time of year.

So please follow in the footsteps of Brother Walfrid and help us make a difference to those most in need within our communities this Christmas.

Thank you so much for your wonderful support!
