Weekend of Paradise fundraising for Foundation’s Christmas Appeal

WITH our 2017 Christmas Appeal now in full swing, this Saturday will see two of our integral Appeal events take place, as Celtic Park plays host to both our Bucket Collection and Ghirls for Good event.

The Bucket Collection has once again been organised in collaboration with our Supporters’ Committee and will see a wonderful band of 120 volunteer collectors situated around the ground, up until kick off (3pm), ahead of Celtic’s SPFL clash with Motherwell.

Supporters will also have the opportunity to make donations after the match, as our volunteers will also be situated at all exit areas following the full time whistle.

In the evening, 430 Ghirls will be in attendance at the Kerrydale Suite for our sold-out Ghirls for Good event. Sponsored by the Ellen Kane Trust, the event promises to be a wonderful occasion as always.

Back by popular demand, the inimitable Edward Reid will once again take the reins and provide live entertainment and hosting duties.

Each Ghirl will also bring along a gift for a local child who is sick or disadvantaged and these will be distributed before the sleigh bells ring on Christmas Eve.

The phenomenal prize for our ‘Fly High NY’ Draw – a trip to the Big Apple for two people – has been very generously donated by event sponsor, the Ellen Kane Trust.

All funds raised from our Bucket Collection and Ghirls for Good event will support our 2017 Christmas Appeal.

We want to help around 300 local families facing poverty, to provide a meal on the table and gifts for the kids. We want to bring the magic of Christmas to those homes. We are also looking to help vulnerable local pensioners to ease the financial burden at a challenging time of year plus a number of other local charities who support those experiencing homelessness or other disadvantage.

Thank you to everyone who is taking part for following in the footsteps of Brother Walfrid, to Share the Spirit of Celtic this Christmas.
