Still time to join the Wander Bhoys’ Kilimanjaro trek for Foundation

AT the end of February 2019, lifelong Celtic supporter Frank Gilhooley will lead a group of volunteers on a trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, having generously nominated Celtic FC Foundation as beneficiary of the funds raised, and there’s still time for you to join the group on this monumental challenge.

If you’re looking for the trip of a lifetime in 2019, then Mount Kilimanjaro offers the opportunity to scale the world’s highest walkable mountain. Situated in North East Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano standing at 19,341 feet tall.

Frank, who is a Scottish actor known for his roles in River City, Still Game and Outlander, will head up the adventurous Celtic contingent known as ‘The Wander Bhoys’ and places on the team are still available. They will embark upon a 13-day journey, commencing on February 28, 2019 and participants must be aged 18 or over on this date.

The cost of the trip is £2,750 per person and Frank is also tasking each volunteer with raising a minimum of £1,000, as a charitable contribution to Celtic FC Foundation.

The package includes:

– Return flights from central Scotland, departing Thursday, February 28 and returning on Tuesday, March 12.

– Transfers when in Africa

– Hotel accommodation

– All food during the trek

– Mountain guides

– Doctors

– A celebratory party after completion of the trek

– A two-day safari experience

The cost of the trip can be covered by each individual or alternatively, ‘The Wander Bhoys’ would encourage businesses and supporters’ clubs to consider sponsoring representatives to take part.

To join ‘The Wander Bhoys – Kilimanjaro Challenge’ the balance of £2,750 must be paid by Monday, January 14, 2019.
