Own a piece of history with Celtic FC Foundation

IN the pantheon of Celtic Football Club’s greatest teams, the Lisbon Lions stand above all others.

The glorious achievement of Jock Stein’s men in becoming the first British team to win the European Cup has long been considered one of football’s greatest triumphs; as 11 men all born within 30 miles of Celtic Park conquered Europe with inimitable, scintillating style.

As time passes, the legend of the Lisbon Lions deepens and memorabilia from that famous night 47 years ago becomes increasingly more precious.

As part of our Christmas Appeal, Celtic FC Foundation are giving you the chance to own the above team photograph of the 1967 European Cup winners emblazoned with the 16 legendary signatures of the Lisbon Lions. Please click HERE to bid on this item.

This priceless piece of Celtic history has been in the hands of a Celtic supporter and private collector for the last 47 years.

The previous owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, has very kindly donated this photograph to honour the spirit of Celtic’s charitable heritage.

This immortal image of the Lisbon Lions was taken in 1967 by Celtic Park photographer Hugh Birt. The signatures of the entire squad of 16 were secured by former Celtic player and reserve team coach, Willie Fernie.

Celtic FC Foundation CEO, Tony Hamilton said: This is another example of exceptional generosity from the Celtic support and I am extremely grateful to our kind benefactor for giving up a family treasure as part of our Christmas Appeal.

Our Christmas Appeal has touched Celtic fans from across the world and it’s done so because they know what a difference it makes to local people.

I hope that this very rare autographed picture fetches good money for the Appeal as it’s a one of a kind and it deserves to.

The eBay auction for this incredible piece of history is scheduled to run until Sunday, December 14, at 5pm.

Please help us brighten up lives and reach our goal this Christmas.
