Huddle up Mount Errigal for Celtic FC Foundation

AMONG the many picturesque sights of Donegal, Mount Errigal stands tall above all others – and this September, a group of supporters are giving you the chance to scale the heights for Celtic FC Foundation and two Donegal charities.

The ‘Huddle Up Errigal’ event takes place on Saturday, September 3, with supporters climbing the iconic landmark en masse before joining in a celebratory Huddle at the peak of the mountain – and waving them off on the day will be Celtic FC Foundation Ambassador, Jay Beatty.

A stunning natural wonder, the summit of Mount Errigal offers breathtaking views of surrounding County Donegal, and with the added incentive of a sky-high Huddle, this event promises to be an incredible experience for any Celtic supporter.

The weekend of the event is also packed with an accompanying itinerary of associated activities in the local community, a full overview of which can be found on the event website – HERE

Registration for ‘Huddle Up Errigal’ is €20.99, and you can register HERE

Speaking about the event, co-organiser Chris Kerr, said: “The idea for ‘Huddle Up Errigal’ came from a conversation a few months ago between myself and a Donegal supporter, John Joe McGinley.

“We discussed how Celtic and Donegal have a great historical connection, and we wanted to reignite the passion for Celtic in the hills of Donegal.

“We wanted to raise money for three worthy charities, Scoil Chonaill Bunbeg Autism Unit, Donegal Hospice and Celtic FC Foundation.

“We hope to see as many supporters as possible at the event, and if you’re interested in participating, please visit our website for more details”.

Celtic FC Foundation CEO, Tony Hamilton, added: “We are absolutely delighted to be a beneficiary of the inaugural ‘Huddle Up Errigal’ event.

“Thank you to Chris, John Joe and the rest of the organising committee, for their hard work and dedication in pulling the weekend of activities together.

“Donegal has always been a source of magnificent support for the club and I’m sure many Celtic supporters will turn out to get behind what is certain to be a special fundraising event for some very worthy causes.”
