Don’t miss the Paradise to Cardenden Cycle 2015

PREPARATIONS for Celtic FC Foundation’s 2015 Paradise to Cardenden Cycle are well underway and already a number of supporters have signed up to take part in what promises to be an inspiring and poignant event to mark the passing of Celtic legend, John Thomson.

In association with our Supporters’ Committee, the cycle takes place on Saturday, September 5 and commemorates John Thomson – a Cardenden native – who tragically died in 1931 after suffering a head injury following an accidental collision in a match against Rangers at Ibrox.

Now, 84 years on, participants will honour his memory by cycling 64 miles from Celtic Park through to Cardenden, Fife, before laying a wreath at John Thomson’s gravesite.

To register for this event, please email [email protected] or call 0141 551 4291.

The non-refundable registration fee is £15 per person and participants are then asked to raise a minimum of £125 in sponsorship. Please ensure you read the terms and conditions HERE  and FAQs HERE  thoroughly before registering.

All participants will be required to read and consent to our terms and conditions before participating.

Bike storage is available at Celtic Park on Friday, September 4 and minibus transport will be offered from Cardenden back to Glasgow following the conclusion of the event.

Celtic FC Foundation’s four priorities are to improve Health, promote Equality, encourage Learning and tackle Poverty. The net proceeds of this event will assist development of our work supporting routes out of poverty for local children and adults through programmes focusing on education and employability.

While preparing for the Paradise to Cardenden Cycle, why not take advantage of Celtic’s season-ticket holder discount initiative with public bike-sharing firm, Nextbike. You can find out more about the Nextbike initiative and discount for season-ticket holders HERE.
