Celtic FC Foundation preparing for a massive month of events

CELTIC FC Foundation are committed to doing more than ever in 2015 and this coming month marks a hugely significant period in our fundraising calendar.

We begin in a celebratory fashion with Lisa Hague’s 30th Birthday Bash on Saturday, May 23 in the Kerrydale Suite. This event will feature a hot buffet, live entertainment, auction, raffle, DJ and, of course, birthday cake.

At £30 per ticket, the evening is not to be missed as Lisa, fiancée of Celtic star Kris Commons, has committed to raising a phenomenal total of £30,000 for the Marie Curie in Glasgow, during her 30th birthday year. All proceeds raised from Lisa’s 30th Birthday Bash will be equally split between Celtic FC Foundation and Marie Curie.

The festivities of Lisa’s 30th Birthday Bash serve as the perfect appetiser to our next event on the morning of Sunday, May 24 – Badge Day.

Celtic FC Foundation’s Badge Day bucket collection takes place before the final home game of the season against Inverness with supporters asked to donate £2 in exchange for a special, uniquely designed badge (to be unveiled shortly).

As a gesture of thanks, all volunteers will be issued with a match ticket for the game against Inverness Caley Thistle.

Supporters wishing to volunteer to participate in the Badge Day bucket collection can do so by contacting [email protected] or calling 0141 551 4291.

Following Badge Day, attention turns towards the annual 1888 Charity Shield tournament.

Kicking off on May 31 at Celtic’s prestigious Lennoxtown Training Centre, the seven-a-side tournament will see a host of teams battling it out in a round-robin Champions League-style format to land the illustrious 1888 Charity Shield.

Additionally, the tournament victors, will receive a fantastic matchday experience at Celtic Park for an SPFL match (date TBC), including official presentation of the 1888 Charity Shield at half-time.

The cost to enter a squad of 10 players into this year’s 1888 Charity Shield is £1,000 and places are now limited.

For the adventurous among you, we round off our May/June events catalogue with the hugely popular Ben Nevis Huddle.

Following the tremendous success of previous efforts, this year’s event takes place on Saturday, June 13 with participants starting the climb from the Glen Nevis Visitor Centre and following the Mountain Track route.

Already, Celtic legend Tom Boyd has signed up to take part and this is your chance to join him in a Huddle at the summit of Britain’s highest mountain.*

Speaking on this flurry of fundraising activity, Celtic FC Foundation CEO, Tony Hamilton said: “It’s been a great start for us in 2015, mainly due to the level of engagement we’ve had from the club and its supporters.

“These up-and-coming events will allow us to continue to raise awareness of the work we’re doing in our key areas and, more importantly, will allow us to raise funds to be able to continue to do it.

“I would like to thank everyone who has played a part so far this year and those who will help us out around some of these events. Our overall objective is to improve people’s lives and that will remain our top priority for the rest of 2015 and beyond.”

If you are interested in getting involved with any of the following events, please call 0141 551 4291 or email [email protected]

* Participants are asked to commit to raising a minimum of £125 (after entry fee) for Celtic FC Foundation. The non-refundable registration fee is £30 per person.
