Yesterday morning (Saturday, December 10) Celtic FC Foundation welcomed over 70 supporters for our first ever Santa Stroll, as the temperature plummeted to -3 degrees, before a festive snowfall at Paradise.
The magnificent group collectively raised a wonderful total in excess of £5K.
It was fun for all the family, as participants of all ages took on either the 1 Mile or 5K Stroll and Christmas cheer was in the air, as each supporter was provided with a Santa Stroll T-shirt and Celtic Santa hat. They then gathered for a team photo before heading to the starting line, as Santa Claus kicked us off at 9.30am, with a Ho Ho Ho.
1 Mile participants completed two laps of the perimeter of the stadium, while the 5K Strollers took on six laps. All were greeted by Hoopy the Huddle Hound at the finish line, before being directed to our festive base within the stadium, to receive their certificate and chocolate treat from Santa Claus.
We would like to express our thanks to all children, young people and adults who took part and made our inaugural event such a fantastic success.
Every penny raised from this brand new event will be devoted to our 2022 Christmas Appeal. We want to give hundreds of families in our communities the Christmas they deserve, making sure there’s food on the table and gifts under the tree.
We also aim to help pensioners, women and children in refuge, the homeless community and refugees – as well as a whole host of others facing poverty and hardship.
The generosity and compassion of the Celtic support is truly unsurpassed and we simply cannot make a difference to the lives of so many without you.
