Paradise Recovery Café Event continues to provide a lifeline at Celtic Park

This week, Celtic FC Foundation welcomed participants, partners and supporters to the Kerrydale Suite at Celtic Park for a special and impactful Paradise Recovery Café event, as the project continues to provide vital support for individuals on their recovery journeys.

Delivered in partnership with Sisco Recovery, Paradise Recovery Café offers a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental environment for people affected by substance misuse, mental health challenges, trauma and homelessness.

The event featured a special visit from former Celtic captain and current Celtic coach Stephen McManus, who spent time meeting participants and hearing first-hand about the positive impact the project is having on people’s lives. Stephen spoke to the group about the importance of support networks, resilience and community, while also taking time to engage with attendees throughout the afternoon.

One of the most moving moments of the event came when a participant shared her personal recovery journey with those in attendance. Speaking openly and honestly about the challenges she has faced, she reflected on the role Paradise Recovery Café has played in supporting her recovery and helping her build confidence, connections and hope for the future.

Her story served as a powerful reminder of the importance of creating safe spaces where people feel heard, valued and supported, and highlighted the life-changing impact that recovery-focused initiatives can have within local communities.

As always, the session brought together individuals from across Glasgow and beyond in a welcoming environment centred on wellbeing, peer support and connection.

The strong sense of community within the room reflected the values that continue to underpin Paradise Recovery Café and its ongoing success.

Since its launch, the project has provided a consistent source of support for individuals seeking positive change in their lives.

Through weekly peer recovery support, wellbeing activities and practical guidance, participants are empowered to build confidence, develop meaningful relationships and access the services they need.

Celtic FC Foundation remains committed to ensuring that Celtic Park continues to serve as a place of support and inclusion for those facing challenging circumstances, and Paradise Recovery Café is a key part of that commitment.

Celtic FC Foundation would like to thank Stephen McManus for joining us, alongside our partners at Sisco Recovery and everyone who continues to support the delivery of this important project.
