Over 100 guests attend launch of You’ll Never Talk Alone project

THURSDAY night saw the launch of Celtic FC Foundation’s You’ll Never Talk Alone project at Celtic Park. It’s set to be the first of a monthly schedule as we move into 2020.

The project, which is striving to tackle the growing issue of loneliness, provided a warm welcome to over 100 guests in the Number 7 restaurant, overlooking the pitch below.

Guests listened to a presentation from Celtic FC Foundation’s Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton and Head of Outcomes, Donna-Marie Henry about the support that is available for them and then had a chance to socialise and make new friends, while enjoying a three-course meal and live entertainment.

The highlight of the night for many of the guests was Celtic manager, Neil Lennon taking time out from a busy schedule to show his support, and everyone had a chance for a photo opportunity and a chat.

Tony Hamilton said: “Thanks to everyone who came along to our first You’ll Never Talk Alone event. We’ve learned a lot and we are very much looking forward to the next one. Our thanks also go to our committee and supporters in New York whose funding has made this and a few other initiatives possible.

“And a final thanks to the manager, for coming along for a while and meeting everyone in the room. To find the time to do that in the middle of a nine-game period in December, and on the eve of a cup final, is very much the mark of the man.”

You’ll Never Talk Alone is free of charge and open to all, if you or someone you know is experiencing loneliness and would like to attend a future session please get in touch with us at [email protected] or call us on 0141 551 4321.
