MDH Recruitment new sponsor of Lions’ View Sensory Room

Celtic FC Foundation is delighted to announce that local company MDH Recruitment, led by their owner and MD Gordon Coyle, have very generously signed up as the new sponsor of the acclaimed Lions’ View Sensory Room at Celtic Park.

MDH are recruitment specialists based in Glasgow and has a strong commitment to helping those within the local community. They have also recently taken on sponsorship of our Women’s team, as well as supporting Celtic FC Foundation’s ‘Sahara Trek.’

The sponsorship will run initially until the end of this season and covers the management and running costs of the Sensory Room, a specially designed facility providing a full match day experience for children, young people and adults with sensory needs, and groups with complex physical and learning difficulties.

This will allow Celtic FC Foundation to continue to offer this incredible match day experience free of charge, to all participants.

Pitch-facing and located in Celtic Park’s Lisbon Lions Stand, the facility opened in April 2019 and offers a safe and secure environment and viewing area on match days.

It has the capacity to host 14 people as well as two Celtic FC Foundation staff who support participants.

Operating at full capacity, approximately 200 children, young people and adults will benefit from the match day experience every season.

The facility can also be used for midweek project sessions, meaning the total number of potential annual beneficiaries will increase substantially.

Discussing the agreement Gordon Coyle said: “Watching matches in The Lions’ View Sensory Room is something I’ve been able to experience with my own son over the last few years, so I was delighted to now have the opportunity to sponsor it so that other kids with additional support needs can continue to enjoy it and take part.

“It’s a testament to the Club and the Foundation that we can do this sort of thing and allow children to enjoy the matches.

‘Once I heard that the opportunity was there to help with this project, it was a very easy decision for us to get involved.’

“I hope that participants will enjoy the Lions’ View Sensory room as much as my son has when I have taken him.

“As a big Celtic supporter and dad, taking my son to the football is one of the best feelings in the world and being able to watch in a safe, happy and engaging environment is a great experience.”

Speaking about MDH Recruitment Gordon added: “Our business is founded on charity and community and that is real. We want people to have better jobs, better lives and be treated properly. So there are a lot of similarities between the Club, its foundations and our business.”

Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive Tony Hamilton said: “We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to Gordon Coyle and MDH Recruitment for sponsoring the Lions’ View.

‘This support will allow us to continue to make a real difference for a significant number of our supporters with sensory needs, as well as groups with complex physical and learning difficulties.’

“The support we have received from MDH Recruitment over the last few months has been phenomenal, and the fact that they have chosen to sponsor this project shows the sort of success that can be achieved as we look forward to working together now and into the future.”

Gordon echoed this saying: “It’s been such an experience to be so involved with Celtic FC Foundation.

“It has been brilliant for the business, great to let people see what we do, and we are really enjoying doing the right thing by helping the Foundation.

“If you told me a few months ago I would be planning to walk across the Sahara, or sponsor the Lions’ View I would never have believed it.

“I enjoy telling all of my friends and family about the great work the Foundation does – even encouraging them to donate in lieu of gifts for my upcoming wedding! – and look forward to working together for a long time.”
