Foundation looks forward to another sold-out Sporting Dinner

Having been unable to host the event in 2021, Celtic FC Foundation now look forward to welcoming supporters back to Celtic Park for our 2022 Annual Sporting Dinner, which will take place on Thursday, March 3. The Dinner sold out a number of months ago and this is a fantastic measure of the continued and regular support we receive.

We are delighted to confirm that David McDonald Financial Services Ltd have very generously committed to sponsorship of this year’s event. With over 50 years of experience within the sector, David McDonald Financial Services offer a comprehensive financial planning service to individuals and companies and provide a total wealth management solution, encompassing all aspects of financial planning including tax, investment, pension and protection solutions.

The Dinner has been a flagship initiative in the charity calendar for well over 20 years, and it is set for its eagerly awaited return to the Kerrydale Suite, here at Celtic Park.

The evening will include a Q&A with some very special guests, an auction and prize draw hosted by MC for the night, Peter Martin, a silent auction and a fantastic three-course meal.

Having recently lost one of our greatest ever Celts and Foundation supporters in Bertie Auld and the subsequent passing of the legendary Wim Jansen, the main beneficiary of this year’s Dinner will be the Foundation’s work around dementia care.

Since 2018, we have strived through our Lions’ Lunch Break projects to improve the quality of life for those living with dementia. The projects also endeavour to engage with and support their loved ones, who on many occasions have to take on the emotional and physical strain of becoming a full-time carer.

‘Lions’ Lunch Breaks Glasgow’ – delivered by Celtic FC Foundation at Celtic Park – and its Edinburgh-based counterpart, ‘Liddell Lions’ Lunch Breaks’ – delivered in the Eric Liddell Centre – provide accessible, holistic provision for those living with dementia and their carers.

Tony Hamilton, Chief Executive of Celtic FC Foundation, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that David McDonald Financial Services Ltd have come on board as Sporting Dinner sponsor this year. David himself has been a fantastic supporter of the Foundation for a number of years and, through this agreement, he has shown great commitment towards assisting with the achievement our goals. We would like to thank David and the team for their incredible backing, during what has been such a challenging time for us all.”

David McDonald added: “David McDonald Financial Services are thrilled to sponsor this year’s Annual Sporting Dinner. The work of the Foundation is very much aligned to our organisation’s own key values and we are delighted to offer our support.”
