Foundation deliver successful October Games initiative

This past week, Celtic FC Foundation welcomed a group of young participants to Celtic Park to take part in our October Games project.

Based at the stadium and surrounding locations, the project worked with 32 young people who benefited from extensive ongoing support during the school holidays.

Participants enjoyed three healthy meals per day and took part in a host of fun and educational activities including football, cycling, skateboarding, art and board games.

Throughout the curriculum, personal development workshops supported participants in developing team-building skills, communication skills and positive self-image.

October Games is an offshoot of the Foundation’s popular Summer Games project, which has supported hundreds of young people during the school holidays since its inception in 2012.

Speaking on the success of the initiative, Tony Hamilton, Chief Executive at Celtic FC Foundation, said: “It was really important for us to be able to expand our existing Summer Games project into the October week.

“Many of the kids involved benefited greatly from this initiative and we hope to do something similar during the Easter 2022 school holidays to ensure a safe, fun and educational environment for children while school is closed.”
