Participants from Celtic FC Foundation’s Easter School Games project received a surprise visit today from Celtic men’s first-team forward, Sead Hakšabanović and Women’s first-team forward, Jacynta Galabadaarachchi who both took part in games and activities with the group.
The Foundation’s School Games projects have supported hundreds of young people since its inception in 2012, taking place during the Easter, Summer and October school holidays.
Young people from the surrounding areas enjoy healthy meals every day, along with a host of fun and educational activities over the two-week break.
This year, Easter School Games was expanded to include young people from the Foundation’s ECA Ukrainian Project – which was introduced last year – and offers support for mental health, physical wellbeing and social integration, all delivered within Celtic Park.
Tony Hamilton, Chief Executive of Celtic FC Foundation, said: “The project will help the young Ukrainian kids with communication and personal development while taking part in fun games and activities.
“Easter Games has provided us with an opportunity to integrate both groups and learn about each other’s cultures, and we’re delighted that we can continue to provide this service, thanks to the support Celtic FC Foundation gets.”
