Celtic FC Foundation supporter, Eddie Sikora, is preparing to embark on the journey of a lifetime, as he takes on the world-famous Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route.
On Monday, August 10, Eddie will embark on his mammoth challenge, as he sets off to walk the world-famous Camino de Santiago in aid of Celtic FC Foundation. Covering an incredible 485 miles across the breathtaking landscapes of northern Spain, the journey is expected to take around five weeks to complete, testing both his physical endurance and mental resilience.
Throughout the challenge, Eddie will follow the historic pilgrimage route through picturesque towns, rolling countryside and mountainous terrain before reaching his final destination – the magical Old Town of Santiago de Compostela. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city is renowned for its rich history, stunning medieval architecture and the magnificent Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, which has welcomed pilgrims from across the world for centuries. Crossing the finish line at one of Europe’s most iconic landmarks will mark the culmination of an unforgettable journey, with every mile helping to raise vital funds in support of Celtic FC Foundation.
Explaining his motivation for undertaking this remarkable challenge, Eddie said:
“Celtic has given me a lifetime of amazing memories. So, to acknowledge the huge part the Club has played in my life, I’m walking the Camino De Santiago to help the Foundation create better futures for those most in need.”
