Celtic Sleep Out Events Return to Celtic Park and St Anne’s in London

Celtic FC Foundation is delighted to announce that the Glasgow and London Sleep Out events will return as part of our 2023 Christmas Appeal.

Following the Bhoys’ success on the park last season, we celebrated a historic eighth treble and now, for the eighth time, we are asking supporters to join us at Celtic Park for the Glasgow Sleep Out, while the London event will return for the sixth time to St Anne’s Primary School in Whitechapel.

Participants at each event will spend the night battling the elements outdoors, under the stars, all for a wonderful cause.

All we ask is that you commit to raising a minimum of £135 (after the entry fee) in support of Celtic FC Foundation’s 2023 Christmas Appeal.

Registration for the Glasgow and London events is now open. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The non-refundable registration fee is £30 per person.

Celtic Park is, of course, the natural location for the Glasgow event but the London venue also holds huge historical and emotional significance for the Celtic Family.

In 1892, five years after his leading role in the formation of Celtic Football Club, the Marist Order moved Brother Walfrid from Glasgow to the Whitechapel area of London’s East End.

Over the next 15 years, as Head Teacher at St Anne’s Primary, Brother Walfrid transformed the school and also established a project to provide meals to the poor in the local community.

Due to anticipated severe weather conditions, these events will be exceptionally challenging, both mentally and physically. Therefore, participants must be aged 18+ and in an appropriate physical condition to participate.

Celtic FC Foundation will provide a ground mat and foil sheet/blanket but participants are required to bring the appropriate equipment and wear relevant clothing and footwear.

In addition to the Glasgow and London events, we will return to Ireland following the wonderful success of our events in Sligo in 2021 and Donegal in 2022. Full details and information on how to register will be shared very soon.

All funds raised from these events will support our 2023 Christmas Appeal, which reflects the very essence of why our club was set up back in 1887.

The Appeal will help to bring the magic of the festive season to children, families, pensioners, those in refuge, the homeless, refugees and others who are struggling at an especially challenging time of year.

So please follow in the footsteps of Brother Walfrid and help us make a difference to those most in need within our communities this Christmas.

Thank you so much for your wonderful support!
