Celtic FC Foundation and Celtic FC taking part in Pride 2023

Celtic FC Foundation, alongside Celtic FC, are delighted to announce that we will be taking part in this year’s Pride, which takes place on Saturday, July 15, starting in Glasgow Green and ending in George Square.

Celebrating inclusion and diversity, Pride is known worldwide for its huge parades through major cities, originally taking inspiration from the marches in the US. As a club open to all, it is important that we ensure Celtic Park is a place where all supporters including those from our LGBTQ+ community feel safe and accepted.

Since 1887, Celtic Football Club has opened its doors to one and all no matter the faith, colour, creed or race and that is why we are keen to invite supporters to join us on the march, where we will proudly display a banner which reads ‘A Club open to All’.

LGBTQ+ Celtic Supporters’ Club, ‘The Proud Huddle’, will be joining colleagues, participants and other supporters on the day to make it an event to remember.

Maggie Murphy, Co-chair of the Proud Huddle, said: “We are really excited to be marching alongside the club and Celtic FC Foundation at this year’s Pride.

“As a CSC we have enjoyed many Pride events and marches together and we look forward to a real celebration of inclusion and diversity, this time across both the Celtic and LGBTQ+ communities.”

We are currently nearing the end of Pride Month, which is a period dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ communities all around the world.

And to celebrate, the Club’s retail department has created a range to champion equality and diversity for all Celtic fans.

The Celtic Pride range is made up of a selection of products where a percentage of the sale of each item in our collection will be devoted to charitable purposes via Celtic FC Foundation and LGBT Youth Scotland. Click HERE to view the full Celtic Pride range.

Celtic FC and Celtic FC Foundation are incredibly proud to be taking part in Pride for the first time, standing side by side with our LGBTQ+ supporters.

As a Club that actively promotes inclusion, it is important that we support the LGBTQ+ community.

We encourage supporters interested in taking part in this year’s march alongside the Club and Celtic FC Foundation to join us together as a club open to all on Saturday, July 15.

The march will leave from Glasgow Green at 12:00pm. It will then snake through Glasgow City Centre before finishing at George Square taking approximately 1 hour.
