Liam Kelly: Introducing The Holy Grounds Of Glasgow Celtic – A Guide to Celtic Landmarks & Sites of Interest

Celtic supporters of a certain vintage will remember the club’s iconic 1960s LP – the Holy Ground of Glasgow Celtic. Now, inspired by that famous old vinyl, I have published a rather unique and highly rated book.

Having worked in conjunction with my graphic designer, the beautiful cover design evokes nostalgic memories, whilst the content provides a comprehensive guide to over 60 Celtic landmarks and sites of interest; the first time that such a collection has been compiled.

Many of these places represent historical importance, whilst others are in use to this day. Naturally, the bulk of locations are found in Glasgow and the surrounding areas, however, the guide does extend across the water to Ireland and beyond. The idea of titling the book “From Paradise To Prague” was toyed with at one stage as, remarkably, the tangible Celtic connections stretch that far. The Czech capital is not the only continental site that features in the guide either.

Each location is accompanied with photographs, address information and a detailed description of its significance to the Celtic story. In that sense, the book serves as a Celtic map of sorts, allowing fans to connect with the club’s history or drink-in the present. My intention is also for the publication to double up as a series of extracts about various parts of the Celtic fairy tale.

Through touring the different sites, everything from legendary players to Celtic’s charitable roots and supporters’ stories can be discovered.

I decided to donate net proceeds from the book to Celtic FC Foundation, to assist the charity in their various projects for 2021 and beyond.

Priced at £14.99, The Holy Grounds Of Glasgow Celtic is exclusively available on Amazon. Since its release in late December 2020, it has earned rave reviews as the book’s five-star rankings demonstrate.
