Annual Sporting Dinner Sold Out Once Again

Celtic FC Foundation looks forward to welcoming supporters to Celtic Park for another sold-out Annual Sporting Dinner, with this year’s event set to take place on Thursday, March 2.

We are delighted to confirm that David McDonald Financial Services Ltd has, once again, very generously provided sponsorship of the event.

With over 50 years of experience within the sector, they offer a comprehensive financial planning service to individuals and companies and provide a total wealth management solution, encompassing all aspects of financial planning including tax, investment, pension and protection solutions.

Our Annual Sporting Dinner – which has been a flagship initiative in the charity calendar for over 25 years – will include a fantastic three-course meal, an auction and prize draw hosted by MC for the night, Peter Martin, plus a silent auction and a Q&A with some very special guests.

The main beneficiary of the funds generated this year will be the Foundation’s Ability Counts projects. These are grounded on a simple model of inclusivity, companionship and most importantly, fun. Initially engaging young people with Down’s Syndrome, the project’s range of delivery has steadily evolved over the years and now also includes sessions for those living with Autism and a stream for those aged 18+, focusing on employability and mature learning.

The projects are delivered in Glasgow, Dublin and Donegal and, through physical activity, sport and team-based play, our sessions allow participants a sense of freedom, affording them opportunities to express their feelings in a relaxed, comfortable environment.

Tony Hamilton, Chief Executive of Celtic FC Foundation, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that David McDonald Financial Services Ltd has decided to support the Sporting Dinner once again this year.

“We would like to express our thanks to David and the team for their incredible backing, for the second time, as the event sponsor.

“David himself has been a fantastic supporter of the Foundation for a number of years and, on this occasion, he has yet again shown great dedication to assisting with the achievement of our aims here to challenge poverty and promote inclusion.”

David McDonald added: “The work of the Foundation is very much aligned to our organisation’s own key values and we are delighted to offer our support and are thrilled to sponsor this year’s Annual Sporting dinner, for the second year in a row.”
