Following the launch of today’s Celtic Christmas film for 2022, supporters are encouraged to #ShareTheMagic and support Celtic FC Foundation’s Christmas Appeal.
Every year, Celtic FC Foundation host a Christmas party in Celtic Park’s Kerrydale Suite for around 200 primary five pupils from local schools.
This year’s party will take place mid-December and, to ensure that a variety of pupils are given the opportunity to attend, places are balloted among a host of schools in and around the east end of Glasgow, with four lucky schools already chosen to attend next month.
However, when an opportunity arose to host an additional children’s Christmas party to feature in this year’s Christmas ad, the Foundation held another ballot of the those schools that hadn’t been selected for the December party – and the children from St Anne’s Primary School were selected to join us for a Christmas party – with a difference!
Fifty-seven children from the school’s primary 5s and 6s were welcomed to Celtic Park for a fun-filled afternoon which included party food, games, gifts, a DJ and visits from Hoopy and Santa Claus.
And as if that wasn’t enough excitement for one day, there was another very special surprise in store for the children of St Anne’s, as the Celtic first-team and Manager, Ange Postecoglou joined them for the celebrations.
Simon Church, Principal Teacher at St Anne’s Primary, spoke following the filming of the advert, saying: “Our pupils had an absolute ball and really enjoyed being part of the whole experience.
“They loved seeing how an advert was made. From the minute they arrived at Celtic Park they were treated like movie stars!
‘They absolutely loved meeting the players and the Manager which was an incredible surprise, on what had already been an amazing day out for them. They all said it was the best day of their lives.’
“On behalf of all the children who were given this amazing opportunity, we thank Celtic Football Club and the Foundation so much for including us, in what was the most memorable experience for our children.”
