To mark National Famine Commemoration Day, which took place last Sunday (May 17), the Celtic Men’s first team sported the unique Celtic Cross logo on their shirts on Trophy Day, as they wrapped up another title winning league campaign against Hearts in dramatic style.
As a Scottish Club established in 1887 with such proud Irish roots, Celtic will always be linked to the tragic events of the Great Hunger, over 170 years ago.
The legacy of our Founding Father, Brother Walfrid, a man who was devoted to assisting those most in need within his community – many of whom had been affected by An Gorta Mór – lives on today through Celtic FC Foundation.
We are delighted to confirm that a selection of match issue shirts from the game – signed by each respective player from the matchday squad – are now available to bid on via our charity eBay account HERE. Bidding will close at around 4pm on Wednesday, May 27.
