Celtic FC Foundation’s Santa Stroll raises £10K for the 2023 Christmas Appeal

December 17, 2023

On Sunday, December 17, Celtic FC Foundation welcomed over 80 supporters for our second Santa Stroll at Paradise.

Participants braved Glasgow’s high winds and torrential rain and collectively raised a wonderful total in the region of £10,000.

It was a dark and dreary winter’s morning, as the participants made their way through the famous Celtic Park doors and into the Walfrid Restaurant for a welcome and briefing session before heading out for their challenge.

Adorned with a green Santa Stroll T-shirt and Celtic Santa hat, the group gathered for a team photo at the starting line before the main man gave them their starting orders with a Ho Ho Ho and a Hail Hail Hail at 9.30am.

Despite the weather, it was fun for all the family, as participants of all ages – as well as Bonnie the dog – took on either the 1-mile or 5K stroll. With Christmas cheer in the air and a sea of green and white, they made their way around the stadium.

The 1-mile participants completed two laps of the perimeter of the stadium, while the 5K strollers took on six laps.

All were greeted by Foundation staff and volunteers at the finish line, before meeting Hoopy the Huddle Hound and receiving their certificate and a chocolate treat from Celtic Santa in the warmth of the Walfrid Restaurant.

We would like to express our thanks to all of the children, young people, adults and our canine supporter who took part and made the Santa Stroll such a fantastic success.

Every penny raised will be devoted to the 2023 Christmas Appeal.
