THE mark Enrico Annoni made on the Celtic Family was significant, although the Italian defender played for only two years for the Hoops.
He is returning to Celtic Park to play in the Henrik’s Heroes v Lubo’s Legends charity match on Sunday, May 28 (KO: 2pm) in aid of Celtic FC Foundation and he accepts both the reality that the fans made him welcome and the acceptance that his recollections of his time in Glasgow will never fade.
“My favourite memory of Celtic Park was my last match because the stadium was full and the fans were singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone,’ he told the official Celtic website.
Annoni played with the Hoops from 1997 to 1999 and came with a more than respectable CV, having previously played for Torino and Roma in a career that started in 1982 with Seregno. And he is keen to meet up with the captains of the charity match.
“With Lubo I didn’t have time to build a friendship because when he arrived I then left Celtic,” said Enrico. “With Henrik, I will always have memories as he was a big friend.
“Celtic will always remain in my heart. I am proud and happy to have played for these colours.”
The Italian is particularly pleased that the proceeds of the match will go to Celtic FC Foundation.
“The Foundation always has good initiatives,” he said. “These types of occasion show how people at the club care about charity.”
Henrik’s Heroes versus Lubo’s Legends will take place at Celtic Park on Sunday, May 28, 2017, with a 2pm KO.

The four priorities are to improve health, promote equality, encourage learning and tackle poverty and the Foundation have a strong track record of delivering successful community-based projects.
Some of the funds will be used to extend existing projects such as the award-winning ‘Ability Counts’ – a project aimed at children and young people who live with Down’s Syndrome or Autism. We will also assist with Community Care for Dementia through a series of initiatives. Finally, in partnership with Mary’s Meals, we will build 67 Kitchens in developing countries where hunger and extreme poverty are claiming lives prematurely every single day.
