Celtic FC Foundation and Glasgow North East Foodbank would like to thank the Celtic Family for their incredible generosity throughout last Saturday’s Food Collection.

In weight, approximately 5500kg of food was collected – an astonishing feat and one which would not have been possible without your immense support.

It was the first physical food collection that had taken place at Celtic Park for over two years and the Celtic support reacted in a typically generous fashion, as floods of donations were made over the course of the day.

The Foundation and its partners would also like to thank those supporters who made a monetary donation through the cash bucket collection and the Virtual Food Drive.

The money donated, over £6,000, will cover the cost of food and essentials, which will be provided to those most in need of our support, via Glasgow North East Foodbank and the other three Trussell Trust Foodbanks in Glasgow.

Finally, we give special mention to all the fantastic volunteers who helped out on the day and helped to facilitate this collection.

Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, said: “We’re very grateful to everyone who contributed. The partnership we have with Glasgow North East Foodbank desperately need these provisions, as do the other Foodbanks who have benefitted.
