What is Walfrid's Wish

Since Celtic Football Club was formed in 1887, charity has paved the Celtic Way. Through our regular giving initiative – Walfrid’s Wish – we are humbly asking supporters to continue the legacy of Brother Walfrid by becoming a Champion of Celtic FC Foundation. You can do this by making a monthly contribution towards the continuation and development of our work challenging poverty.

To mirror the charitable vision of our Founding Father, monies raised through Walfrid’s Wish are devoted to supporting the Foundation’s ‘Paradise Pit Stop’ and ‘Paradise Pit Stop Lunch Break’s’ projects.

Through these vital initiatives our doors here at Celtic Park are now open every Monday and Thursday evening, between 5pm-7pm and every Wednesday and Friday afternoon, from 12noon-2pm.

Anyone who may wish to join us, can pop in and enjoy good company, a free warm meal and a selection of hot and soft drinks in the comfort of our lounge.

Testimonials

Emma Crossley

“Walfrid’s Wish is very important to me and my family. My son and I were lucky enough to be a part of the Foundation’s Holiday Home Project. This allowed us to go on a well needed break, which without their help, would not have been possible. Through monthly giving I am able to continue supporting Celtic FC Foundation and the excellent work that I know they carry out.”

Daniel Haggerty

“One of the benefits of being a Walfrid’s Wish donor meant I was able to attend the recent Showcasing Event. When l listened to the speakers from various different projects, l felt so proud to be part of it, albeit in a very small way. I can’t praise the Foundation and all their volunteers enough. It is because of this larger collective effort that they are able to continue to do so much for those in need.”

Ronnie McCrear

“I believe that the work Celtic FC Foundation carries out is extremely important. The Foundation are addressing a number of societal issues via a variety of projects. Through Walfrid’s Wish, I’m able to contribute in a way that suits me best. The Foundation is an integral part of Celtic Football Club, which exists today due to Brother Walfrid’s determination to help others, and it is imperative that through the Foundation, this legacy lives on.”
