SUNDAY, May 28, will see the return to Paradise of two Celtic greats – Henrik Larsson and Lubomir Moravcik. As team-mates they were at the forefront of one of the greatest Celtic sides of the modern era.
We are delighted to welcome them back and their magnificent efforts will help Celtic FC Foundation with its existing work at home, with dementia projects, and in feeding children in some of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable communities.
With over 50,000 tickets already sold, the Celtic support has again rallied to honour its heroes and to help those who need it the most.
In tribute to the Lisbon Lions in the 50th anniversary year, and to mark the return of Henrik and Lubo, Celtic FC Foundation has partnered with Mary’s Meals to create the ’67 Kitchens’ campaign, which will be a major beneficiary of the charity match. This will see Celtic fans support the building of 67 school kitchens for children in the developing world and send emergency food aid to South Sudan and Syria.
Mary’s Meals is a long-time partner of Celtic FC Foundation and Celtic fans’ charitable efforts. Mary’s Meals’ vision is a simple one – that every child in the world should be able to receive one good meal every day in a place of education.
The last remaining tickets for the game are available to purchase online at www.celticfc.net, by calling 0871 226 1888** or by visiting the Celtic Ticket Office.
Premium tickets (£30) and corporate packages (£135) are also available by calling 0871 226 1888** (Option 4) or emailing [email protected]
Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow, founder and Chief Executive of Mary’s Meals, said: “We are delighted to join with Celtic fans in The 67 Kitchens campaign. This initiative will get vital food supplies into conflict-hit South Sudan and support our newest school feeding programme in Syria, as well as establish a unique legacy for the Lions through the kitchen building programme.
“Through our work together over the years, Mary’s Meals knows well the conscience and goodness of the Celtic support and we will work hard – on your behalf – to bring that incredible generosity to bear in some of the world’s poorest communities.”
Tony Hamilton, Celtic FC Foundation’s Chief Executive, added: “More than a club is an often used phrase throughout the world of football but when it is said of the Celtic support it is said of their actions and their undying commitment to the founding principles of our football club.
“It feels very special for us all that we are able to dedicate this work to the Lisbon Lions in the 50th anniversary year. They embody everything of what we are all about.”
