IT was a day of wonderful celebration on Sunday at Celtic Park, as the Bhoys were crowned eight-in-a-row champions on Trophy Day. There was also great success for Celtic FC Foundation, as our annual Badge Day raised a fantastic £18,000.
There was a tremendous party atmosphere around the ground, as Celtic legend, Paul McStay met the team with the SPFL trophy on The Celtic Way ahead of kick-off, surrounded by thousands of fans.
Our volunteer collectors, who kindly donated their time, were also out in force around the stadium selling our latest pin badge, which also celebrated the club’s incredible eight-in-a-row achievement.
The unique badge features our Celtic FC Foundation branding, with the number eight shown in Roman numerals – ‘VIII’ – sitting proudly at the centre.
Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton said: “Once again, our annual Badge Day has proved to be a tremendous success and I must extend our thanks to all of the wonderful Celtic FC Foundation volunteers, who so kindly came along on the day and donated their time to support us.
“I would also like to give thanks to our Supporters’ Committee. As always, they have played a crucial role in the lead up to the event and were instrumental on the day, in ensuring that the event was a success.
“Finally, I must thank the Celtic support for getting behind us on Badge Day. Yet again, the fans have backed us in their numbers and we continue to be humbled by their incredible support. Thank you.”
For those fans who did not manage to get their hands on a badge at the match, they are available at the Celtic Superstore – by making a £2 donation in one of the Celtic FC Foundation boxes located at the tills – or online via Celtic FC Foundation’s eBay account HERE.
