COULD you make it your New Year’s resolution to donate one hour of your monthly salary to Celtic FC Foundation?
By contributing just one hour of your pay each month, via Payroll Giving, you can make a huge difference.
Payroll Giving is a scheme that allows anyone who pays UK income tax to give regularly and on a tax-free basis to the charities of their choice. Therefore, you can choose to support Celtic FC Foundation with a monthly donation of any amount you choose, which will then be taken directly from your pay before tax deductions.
This means that, as a basic rate taxpayer, each £1 you give will only cost you 80p – or, if you are a higher rate taxpayer – it will cost you 60p For example, a donation of £5 per month costs the basic rate taxpayer £4 or a higher rate taxpayer £3.
For higher rate taxpayers, this is the only way to pass on your entire tax deduction to a charity, as only 28% can be recouped via other ways of giving.
To donate to Celtic FC Foundation via Payroll Giving, and make a monthly tax saving, just complete this FORM
Alternatively, you can ask your payroll department for a Payroll Giving form which can then be set up with your employer.
Payroll Giving offers the following benefits to Celtic FC Foundation:
- A regular, reliable income stream, which allows the Foundation to plan ahead and budget for the future
- The Foundation receives the total donation including tax, without having to reclaim at a later date
- Many employers choose to match their employees gifts, some even double-match their contributions
