AS the sun shone on County Down on Saturday, a magnificent group of supporters performed the first ever Huddle at the top of Slieve Donard, having raised a phenomenal total in the region of £10,000 for Celtic FC Foundation in the process.
The event was organised by the Eire Go Brach CSC, who were joined on the day by a number of other CSCs and individuals to take on the gruelling 2,789 foot climb.
Spirits were high as the group began their ascent, despite some early fog hampering visibility. The sun soon came out, however, and the group were provided with near perfect conditions for the remainder of the day.
Supported by local mountain guides, the group were expertly led up Slieve Donard and, on making it to the top, they were met with stunning views of the Mourne Mountains and the surrounding area.
Once the whole group had reached the summit they gathered together to perform a wonderful Huddle. Each and every climber should be incredibly proud of their efforts on such a magnificent achievement.
The Slieve Donard Huddle complements our Ben Nevis Huddle which will take place later this month on Saturday, June 30.
