Recycle your old football kits for Celtic FC Foundation

CELTIC FC Foundation are delighted to announce that they have teamed up with Glasgow the Caring City to offer fans the opportunity to recycle old, unwanted football kits.

This coming Saturday, August 26, Celtic FC Foundation will take delivery of two customised clothes recycling banks to allow fans to bring along any old football strips they may have which are no longer required. The banks will be situated where Janefield Street meets Springfield Road and will be available for donations from midday.

The donated kit will be sorted by Glasgow the Caring City and will distributed at home and overseas for charitable purposes.

For this initial collection, we are asking fans to donate the following items only:

Kit required:
Shirts
Socks
Shorts
Training tops
Tracksuits

For safety, please ensure any kit you bring along is in a bag which is tied.

Tony Hamilton, Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive said: “This is something we’ve needed for a while now as many Celtic supporters are keen to recycle old football kit.

“I’m delighted we’re partnering with Glasgow the Caring City charity and I’m hopeful that many people will benefit from donations to these recycle banks.”

Ross Galbraith, Glasgow the Caring City said: “Working with the Celtic brand and the fans on this project is hugely exciting. Not only is the repurposing of the kit of huge personal value to the recipients at home and abroad, the club and fan base are reducing potential textile waste to landfill, reducing the carbon footprint and environmental damage.

“Our huge thanks go to the Foundation staff and the fans for pushing forward with this initiative.”
