One night in Donegal with Scott Brown

FOLLOWING the success of Celtic FC Foundation’s fundraiser in Donegal last year with Brendan Rodgers, we are delighted to confirm we are returning in 2019!

Sponsored once again by Bulmers, the event will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the Silver Tassie Hotel and our special guest will be Celtic captain, Scott Brown.

The evening has been organised in partnership with the Association of Donegal Celtic Supporters’ Clubs, and they have been instrumental in all elements of the planning and organisation of our second Donegal dinner.

Tickets are priced at €60/£55 per person but those who book a table of 12 will pay for 11 places and receive one for free (€660/£605).

Tickets can be booked through Celtic FC Foundation – +44 141 551 4321 or [email protected] – or the Association of Donegal Celtic Supporters’ Clubs – Donie McIntyre 086 8122091 or Denis O’Donnell 085 1743866.

It’s shaping up to be a fantastic event, hosted by Peter Martin, including a Q&A with Scott Brown, live music from Liam McGrandles, auction, prize draw and fabulous three-course meal.

Monies raised at our 2018 event have been set aside to support development of our award-winning Ability Counts Ireland project, particularly in Donegal.

We are currently working in partnership with Down Syndrome Ireland and our delivery kicked off in Dublin in July, courtesy of fundraising through our #LionsLegacy campaign and support from a number of Irish CSCs.

We are scheduled to meet Down Syndrome Ireland’s Donegal arm in November of this year to begin discussions around delivery in the county, and monies raised at our 2018 event will be devoted to supporting the initial provision.

With your support in 2019, we will then be able to extend and develop our delivery in Donegal and explore ways to expand the variety of activities and offer them to a greater number of vulnerable youngsters and adults.

Scott Brown said: “It’s always an honour to spend time with supporters and I’m really excited about this event in Donegal next year. I know the sacrifices our Irish supporters make week in, week out to follow the team and it is never taken for granted.

“The Foundation’s Ability Counts project makes a genuine difference to the lives of the participants and their families. I’m delighted that it is now taking place in Ireland, with Dublin the first stop and Donegal on the horizon.”

Denis O’Donnell from the Association of Donegal Celtic Supporters’ Clubs added: “We are extremely delighted, honoured and privileged to, once again, be working with Celtic FC Foundation in hosting another gala occasion in Donegal and, thereby, contributing to the funding of their hugely inspiring ‘Ability Counts’ project.

“We invite all Celtic supporters to join us for what promises to be another unforgettable night at the Silver Tassie Hotel.”

Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, added: “We are absolutely delighted to be returning to Letterkenny in March 2019 and I would like to thank Bulmers for getting behind us for the second year in a row.

“Once again we owe so much to the Association of Donegal Celtic Supporters’ Clubs who have worked tirelessly to support us in this venture.

“Scott Brown provides invaluable support to Celtic FC Foundation on a continuous basis and it’s wonderful that he’s agreed to be our special guest on the night, a move which I have every faith will be immensely popular with the local supporters.

“We are very excited about taking Ability Counts Ireland to Donegal and can’t wait to get started. With your support across the 2018 and 2019 events, we can have a really positive impact on those who are vulnerable in the local community. This is how it feels to be Celtic.”
