Hoops fans walk on fire for Celtic FC Foundation

CELTIC FC Foundation’s first ever WALK ON Fire event took place on Friday night, in front of a fantastic crowd that had gathered on the Celtic Way, to cheer on those taking part.

The event saw 34 participants take on the 12-foot walk across hot coals, reaching temperatures exceeding 550 degrees Celsius. The group have already raised a magnificent total in the region of £8,500, with efforts still ongoing.

The evening began as Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, welcomed the group and provided a vote of thanks for their support and outstanding efforts, before handing over to Brian Costello of Headstrong Scotland.

Brian, one of Scotland’s top mind coaches, then led the group through an entertaining seminar, which comprised of a series of activities designed to build confidence and conquer fear ahead of the fire-walking itself.

Conditions were near perfect for the occasion and with friends and family in attendance, each brave participant stepped up, one by one for their fire-walk experience. Everyone was then given the opportunity to walk across the coals again, before the fire was widened to allow those who wished to walk in pairs do so.

Proceeds from the WALK ON Fire event will support our work in local communities around our key areas of Health, Equality, Learning and Poverty (HELP).

Celtic FC Foundation would like to thank each and every WALK ON Fire participant for their phenomenal efforts and all of those who have supported them along the way. You have made a genuine difference to the lives of the most vulnerable in our community.

Thank you for your wonderful support.
