CELTIC FC Foundation is delighted to be the recipient of a phenomenal donation of £7,800 which was raised from the Glasgow University Celtic Supporters’ Club Reunion Dinner which took place in May, 2015. Former Celtic Chairman, Brian Quinn, addressed the audience as did ex-Celt Tosh McKinlay with his own take on the Scottish game.
The evening brought back together many former members of the club from the past 45 years and even inspired some younger members and current Glasgow Uni students to consider re-forming the supporters’ club.
Gerry White, pictured alongside former student Stephen Glancey and Celtic FC Foundation CEO, Tony Hamilton, is one of the committee members involved in the event. He said “I was delighted that the former members of the Glasgow University CSC had such a successful reunion dinner and during the course of the evening managed to raise almost £8,000 for the Celtic FC Foundation.
“I would like to thank the University Principle Mr Anton Muscatelli for his attendance and indeed all of our honoured guests. It was a fantastic event with incredible generosity shown by the club members for the most worthy of causes.”
Tony Hamilton added: “The Glasgow University CSC reunion was a fantastic event and I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity to speak on the night about our football club’s charity, alongside our former chairman, Brian Quinn.
“I’m also very grateful that Celtic FC Foundation was the beneficiary on the evening – Gerry White, Gerry Dunbar, Austin Lally, Paul Shiels and the entire committee did a great job.
“People came from all over for the dinner and it was a terrific evening, typical of the Celtic support. I’m looking forward to the 50th reunion!”
Harry McNeill of the Glasgow University CSC said: “After a long period of darkness, students at Glasgow University have finally come to their senses this year and re-formed the famous Glasgow University CSC.
“The CSC has recruited over 30 members in a short space of time and welcomes anyone interested in joining. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more information.”
