Celtic FC Foundation’s Annual Badge Day raises £25k

AS the six-in-a-row champions capped off a magnificent undefeated league campaign on Sunday with a win against Hearts, there was also significant success off the pitch as Celtic FC Foundation’s Annual Badge Day achieved a phenomenal record total in the region of £25K.

There was a tremendous pre-match party atmosphere as fans gathered on the Celtic Way to welcome the team, accompanied by legendary Lisbon Lions, Willie Wallace and Jim Craig who carried the SPFL trophy.

Over 100 volunteers kindly gave up their time to sell our latest pin badge which represents unity and respect, and sees Celtic FC Foundation’s crest featuring alongside the Lisbon Lions 50th Anniversary emblem.

Once again, the Celtic support responded in a typically generous fashion as thousands of fans eagerly snapped up the unique badges from sellers around the ground.

Net proceeds will support Celtic FC Foundation’s ongoing projects around our four key themes of improving Health, promoting Equality, encouraging Learning and tackling Poverty.

Speaking of another hugely successful Badge Day, Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, said: “I’d like to thank all of our volunteers who gave up their time on Sunday to help ensure that our Badge Day was a phenomenal success. Their efforts on the day were truly outstanding as ever.

“I must also thank our Supporters’ Committee, who once again played a key role in organising this event. We are extremely grateful for their continued support.

“Finally, I’d like to extend a huge thank you to all of those who bought and proudly wore a badge on Sunday. Our supporters continually get behind everything we do here at Celtic FC Foundation and yet again we’ve been humbled by their generosity on Badge Day.

“Thank you for your wonderful support.”
