Celtic FC Foundation party for local kids

Celtic FC Foundation today staged a fantastic Christmas lunch and party for 180 school children from six schools in the East End of Glasgow.

The primary schools invited to Celtic Park were St Anne’s, St Denis’,Haghill Park, St Michael’s and Quarrybrae.

All the kids were treated to a special lunch, a range of party games, a dance session and a disco. They received a visit from Hoopy the Huddle Hound, Celtic´s mascot and gifts from the main man himself, Santa Claus.

And the day was topped off by a special visit from Celtic first-team player, Dylan McGeouch, whose autograph was in great demand!

Celtic FC Foundation (formerly Celtic Charity Fund) is the charitable arm of Celtic Football Club and we are currently going through a period of significant change. Our fundraising efforts and support of other charitable organisations remain, but our remit has been enhanced to include a strong focus on direct project delivery in our local communities, targeting key issues such as poverty, education, equality and health.

Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, said: ‘It was an absolute pleasure to host the children here at CelticPark today, each of whom were a credit to their school.

“The East End of Glasgow – and particularly children – are at the very heart of what we do and I’m delighted we were able to provide a day of festive fun in Paradise.

“This initiative forms part of our 2013 Christmas Appeal and special thanks must go to a group of supporters who undertook the Paradise Climb in May 2013 and allocated their fundraising to today’s party.”
