PREPARATIONS are now almost complete for a double header of charity events in honour of the legend of all legends, Mr Jock Stein, to mark the 30th anniversary of his passing.
A Legends’ charity match between Dunfermline and Celtic will take place at East End Park on Sunday, September 6, (KO 2.00pm) and this will be followed by a now sold-out charity dinner at The Glen Pavilion.
We are delighted to confirm that cash turnstiles will be in operation at East End Park on Sunday for both sets of fans. However, to avoid the queues, there’s still time to get your tickets – priced at £12 for adults and £6 for concessions – in advance from the Celtic ticket office.
The unique match will see a of host of former Pars and Hoops stars, plus a few celebrity fans, battle it out on the pitch to raise funds for charity, in tribute to one of world football’s greatest ever managers.
The Celtic Legends’ manager for the day, Murdo MacLeod, will be assisted by auction winner, Charles Barnes and they have pulled together a strong squad who are ready to honour Jock Stein and put on a show against their Dunfermline counterparts.
