April Newsletter

After receiving some very positive feedback from our inaugural newsletter, we invite you to read a copy of our April newsletter by clicking HERE. I’m sure you’ll agree that the stories continue to be inspirational, however, we simply could not deliver these projects, or facilitate the fundraising initiatives without your support.

Here’s what we’ve got coming up over the next few months:

The Heroes of ’86 – Sunday, May 1, 2016

Sponsored by Anderson Maguire, we invite you to remember one of Celtic’s truly unforgettable title triumphs as we commemorate The Heroes of ‘86.

An evening of nostalgia, spectacle and elation, The Heroes of ‘86 night will feature footage from the day, a two-course meal as well as an auction and prize draw. This event rejoices in the memory of that historic day at Love Street, as we gather the likes of Davie Hay, Murdo MacLeod and another of the guests of honour, Albert Kidd, to relive their stories, anecdotes and euphoria from one of the most compelling chapters in the Celtic story.

Badge Day 2016 –  Sunday, May 15, 2016

You will be able to get your hands on Celtic FC Foundation’s bespoke charity badge. This year, we launched a competition for children and young people between the ages of seven and 16 to design a badge inspired by their vision of Celtic, Charity and Football.

The competition was met with huge interest as youngsters showcased their artistic talent, and after a little help from Club captain Scott Brown, the winning entry has been selected and will be revealed in the coming days.

If you would like to volunteer for our badge day, please email your details to: [email protected]

Participants will set off from St Mary’s Church in the Calton (Humble Beginnings), before stopping at Barrowfield training centre (East End), heading towards the Jimmy Johnstone Memorial Statue in Viewpark (Legendary Figures), and finally arriving in front of the Brother Walfrid statue (Paradise).

The 2016 H.E.L.P. Pilgrimage promises to be an incredible experience, paying tribute to some of the most revered figures at venues that are synonymous with Celtic folklore.

1888 Charity Shield 2016 – Saturday, June 18, 2016

Sponsored by the US-based Yours in Soccer Foundation, this seven-a-side tournament will take place at Celtic FC’s prestigious Lennoxtown Training Centre.

The tournament will run Champions League style, with teams being split into round robin qualifying groups and then the top eight moving onto the knock-out rounds.

The victorious squad of 10 will not only be presented with the Shield and medals on the day of the tournament, but will also receive a fantastic matchday experience at Celtic Park for an SPFL match (date TBC), including official presentation of the 1888 Charity Shield at half-time.
