Celtic FC Foundation’s Golf event will take place on World Autism Awareness Day and all proceeds raised will go towards our upcoming project with children and young people with autism.

In collaboration with the University of Strathclyde, Celtic FC Foundation intend to create a project which will offer an opportunity to enhance each child’s wellbeing through supported physical activity such as football and dance with a focus on fun.

The autism project will also seek to enhance parents’ and carers’ skills in behaviour management with an emphasis on promoting the development of social interaction skills for children and young people with autism.

Speaking about the event, former Celtic captain, Tom Boyd said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be a part of Celtic FC Foundation’s Golf Day and I’m really looking forward to playing at Renfrew with the rest of the guys.

“Supporting great causes and helping others is typical of this football club and Celtic FC Foundation’s upcoming project with autism is worth turning out for and digging deep. “

Celtic FC Foundation CEO, Tony Hamilton, added: “I’d like to thank all of the golfers and the ex-Celts for supporting us in our first golf event. Ultimately our aim is to help children and young people who live with autism. This event will put us in a good position to begin to work in that area.”
