Following the wonderful success of our Sahara Trek earlier this year and Arctic Trek back in 2023, Celtic FC Foundation are now looking ahead to our next overseas challenge – ‘Celtic FC Foundation’s Camino Trek’ – which will take place in October 2024.
This eight-day trip will see a group of supporters trek the final 116 kilometers of the famous Camino De Santiago pilgrimage route, over five days.
The group will trek across the green rolling landscapes of rural Galicia, discover local traditions and enjoy the unique atmosphere. Starting from Sarria, participants will take in charming villages, forests and rural countryside, while visiting many picturesque churches along the way.
The final destination is the magical Santiago Old Town, a wonderful UNESCO World Heritage site, home to the stunning Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
The cost of the trip is £2,150 per person and this includes a non-refundable deposit of £300 which is required to confirm your place.
There is also a minimum fundraising requirement of £1,800 as a charitable contribution to Celtic FC Foundation, in support of our work challenging poverty and promoting inclusion.
The package includes:
- Return flights from central Scotland to Santiago, departing on Sunday, October 13 and returning on Sunday, October 20
- Transfers within Spain
- Hotel accommodation on a shared basis throughout
- Local English speaking guides, Global Adventure Challenges leader from the UK and a UK Doctor
- Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) starting with dinner on Day 1, through to breakfast on Day 8 (except lunch Day 7)
- An opportunity to explore the beautiful town of Santiago on Day 7
- An official pilgrim certificate provided at the Pilgrim Office in Santiago
- An official event T-shirt
Following payment of the £300 deposit, the balance of £1,850 can be paid in further instalments with the final payment being due on Monday, July 15, 2024. The minimum fundraising amount of £1,800 must be raised by Monday, October 7, 2024.
