On Wednesday, November 8, the doors of Celtic Park will open as Celtic FC Foundation host its inaugural ‘Paradise Pit Stop Lunch Breaks’ project.
This follows in the footsteps of ‘Paradise Pit Stop’ which launched 10 months ago, and since then we’ve seen over 11,000 hot meals and drinks served to over 6,000 individuals.
Paradise Pit Stop Lunch Breaks will see the stadium open every Wednesday and Friday from 12noon until 2pm to help combat the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. Everyone in need of a warm meal is welcome to come along.
As with Paradise Pit Stop, everyone attending can expect a warm welcome in a non-judgemental environment and access to advice on other Celtic FC Foundation projects, including our Fuel Bank.
Paradise Pit Stop Lunch Breaks will also strive to tackle some of the many health inequalities faced by people living in local communities.
Our first focus will be mental health and we will provide free access to various short holistic therapy workshops, including Mindfulness, Stress Management and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Celtic FC Foundation’s Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, said: “Since launching Paradise Pit Stop in January this year, we have seen consistent need for the service and we know this will only increase as we move into the colder months.
“As we approach Christmas, we recognise the additional stress this can bring to families. With this in mind we hope that we can play a small part in alleviating some of that burden by offering a hot meal four days of the week and the opportunity to access vital mental health support.
“I would encourage anyone, in or out of employment, who could benefit from the project to come along.”
If you’re interested in coming along to Paradise Pit Stop Lunch Breaks, please feel free to pop in on Wednesday and Friday between 12noon and 2pm.
Entrance is via the North East entrance. For more information, please contact Celtic FC Foundation at [email protected]
