Celtic first team, Women’s team and B team join Foundation Christmas party

As part of Celtic FC Foundation’s 2022 Christmas Appeal, today we hosted a children’s Christmas party (Monday), as more than 200 Primary Five pupils, from four schools in the East End of Glasgow – Quarry Brae, St Michael’s, St Paul’s and Wellshot – joined us at Celtic Park’s Kerrydale Suite for an afternoon of festive fun.

And there were some very special guests in attendance, as the children were joined by members of the Celtic first team, Women’s team and the B team – Liel Abada, Oliver Abildgaard, Joe Hart, Reo Hatate, Yuki Kobayashi, Benjamin Siegrist, Chloe Craig, Caitlin Hayes, Mackenzie Carse and Daniel Kelly.

The party was made possible following the success of the Foundation’s Christmas Appeal, and the kids were treated to a festive lunch, party games, a ‘tattoo’ artist, a face painter, a visit from Hoopy the Huddle Hound and a disco!

And no Christmas party would be complete without a visit from Santa Claus, who delivered a selection box to each child, with the assistance of our players.

Following a chance to get some autographs, the children from each school were then invited to have their photos taken alongside their Celtic favourites.

Speaking of the party, Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, said: “Our Christmas party for local school children is always one of the highlights of the Christmas Appeal.

“Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we’d been unable to host this since 2019, so it was wonderful to see our special guests back at Celtic Park laughing, singing, dancing and enjoying themselves.

“We are very grateful to all of the players for taking time out to join us today and making it that little bit more special for the children.

“It was a joy to welcome over 200 pupils from the East End into Paradise but this would not have been possible without magnificent support we’ve received for this year’s Appeal, so thanks again to all who have contributed.”

Through our Appeal, we want to give hundreds of families in our communities the Christmas they deserve, making sure there’s food on the table and gifts under the tree.

We also aim to help pensioners, women and children in refuge, the homeless community and refugees – as well as a whole host of others facing poverty and hardship.

The generosity and compassion of the Celtic support is truly unsurpassed and we simply cannot make a difference to the lives of so many without you.

Together, we can Share the Magic this Christmas.
