Celtic FC Foundation is delighted to announce the relaunch of our ‘You’ll Never Talk Alone’ project on Wednesday, October, 5, 2022.
The initiative, which was formally launched at the beginning of 2020, has been on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic but will return with a new 12-week format comprised of workshops, experiences, and fun social opportunities.
‘You’ll Never Talk Alone’ will be centred around a ‘reach up, reach in and reach out’ ethos:
- ‘Reach up’: workshops and experiences designed to tackle existential loneliness and promoting connections to a person’s meaning of self and the world – in short, nourishment for the soul.
- ‘Reach In’: workshops and experiences that allow deeper connections to ourselves and others through shared laughter and movement.
- ‘Reach out’: opportunities presented to participants to give back to their own community and support others who have gone through similar experiences.
We understand that isolation and loneliness can affect anyone regardless of age or stage of life, significantly impacting upon a person’s physical and mental wellbeing.
We also recognise that people who have underlying mental health difficulties, financial difficulties or those facing stigmatisation, marginalisation or persecution are often withdrawn and impacted socially.
The relaunched project will aim to connect people and develop meaningful relationships in a safe space where dignity, compassion and kindness is fostered.
All sessions will be held from 6pm until 8pm on a Wednesday evening within Celtic FC Foundation’s Learning Centre, with food and refreshments provided and staff on hand to talk, listen and provide support.
Under-18s can also benefit from joining in with our additional ‘Youth Hub’ on a Wednesday from 3.30pm until 5.30pm, where they can take part in sessions in a fun, safe environment within the Learning Centre.
The project is open to all. If you are experiencing loneliness and would like to come along please get in touch, by email at [email protected] or call on 0141 551 4321.
