The Foundation’s Celts by the Sea event in Ballycotton on Saturday, June 22 with Martin O’Neill was once again a huge success, as we were joined in County Cork by supporters from across Ireland. We’re delighted to confirm that an incredible net total in the region of €12K was raised.
The day began at Sea Church – a beautiful restaurant and event space in the Ballycotton area of East Cork – who very kindly sponsored the event for the second year running, as participants were welcomed into the venue for registration ahead of the sponsored walk.
Unfortunately, the weather was not on the group’s side as the rain appeared just in time for a group photo at the starting point. However, the stunning Ballycotton Cliff Walk certainly didn’t disappoint, as occasional breaks in the clouds made for some truly breathtaking sea views.
The end point for the walk was back at Sea Church, where participants were welcomed for a BBQ, before the venue then played host to a wonderful evening of entertainment.
Net proceeds from the event will support Celtic FC Foundation project delivery in Ireland and a donation of €3K will also be made to Marymount University Hospital & Hospice in Cork.
Celtic FC Foundation would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Celts By the Sea event and helped make the day and night such a great success, including our sponsor and host venue, Sea Church, Martin O’Neill, the Association of Irish Celtic Supporters Clubs, Cork No.1 CSC, Leeside CSC, Liam Miller CSC, North Kildare CSC, Portlairge Emerald CSC, The Táin Bhoys CSC, Wicklow Emerald CSC, Ciarán Ó Raghallaigh , Liam McGrandles and each and every individual who got involved, as well as everyone who made a donation or contributed a prize.
