Hope Kitchen is a local charity that aims to serve Oban, Lorn and the Isles. It comprises of New Hope Community Hub and Café and Green Shoots Community Garden.

Providing a welcoming environment for all through food, friendship and fellowship, where people have the opportunity to exercise self-determination, make positive choices and maintain their independence.

“The money so generously donated by Celtic FC Foundation has, for the last few years enabled us to provide a great Christmas for families and those who live on their own. The money means that we have been able to give 550 people a gift bag with toys, gifts and Christmas food treats. It also means we can provide Christmas meals throughout the Christmas season including a sit down Christmas dinner on the week leading up to Christmas for about 30 people, a Christmas lunch on Christmas day for about 35 people and meals on boxing day, and Hogmanay. Most of the people we cater for would be living on their own.”

“Loneliness is one of the main issues that people face over Christmas and people are really thankful we can provide friendship and a warm place to meet and enjoy not just food but lots of activities too. A lot of the families that are supported by Celtic FC Foundation find Christmas really hard financially and knowing that they are able to provide a bag of toys for each of their children is really appreciated. We also provide gifts for the parents too. Last year we got a thank you card that said “I cried when I opened our gift bag as it was so lovely to get some gifts for me. I am so focused on making sure the kids are provided for I don’t think about myself and for you to think about me was so special” – Hope Kitchen
