CELTIC FC Foundation is delighted to have agreed a partnership with the Eddie Miller Foundation to create new music and creative arts facilities at Eastbank Academy in Shettleston, in Glasgow’s East End.

Eddie Miller was a former captain of the famous secondary school who became Director of Education for the Strathclyde Region.

The Foundation, recently launched in his memory, is dedicated to providing life-enriching opportunities for pupils at the school.

The partnership with Celtic FC Foundation has already transformed the musical equipment available at the school and allowed talented pupils to attend residential courses at Ardentinny to further their musical studies.

Further investment is planned including drama and arts facilities and recording equipment with the aim of creating a centre of excellence for music and the creative arts for the East End of Glasgow hosted by Eastbank Academy.

Celtic FC Foundation’s Music and Digital Education Programme has enjoyed enormous success in many schools within the north and east of the city for a number of years and we are delighted to add Eastbank to this initiative.

Gordon Shaw, Head Teacher of Eastbank Academy said: ” I am delighted that the Eddie Miller Foundation and Celtic FC Foundation have come together to invest in creative arts at Eastbank.

“This has already allowed us to purchase a substantial amount of new equipment for the school’s music department and has made it possible for more of our pupils to attend summer residential courses to develop their musical talent.

“We look forward to continuing to work with the Eddie Miller Foundation and its partners to enhance the provision of creative arts at Eastbank.”
