Celtic FC Foundation’s 2020 charity pin badge pays tribute to Scott Brown – Captain. Leader. Legend. We are delighted to announce that these ‘Broony’ badges are now in stock!
All pre orders are currently being fulfilled and will be shipped this week.
The badges are available to purchase online from today, Wednesday, May 5, via our charity eBay account HERE and are priced at £2 per badge, plus postage and packaging. They will be shipped from Friday, May 7 onwards.
In addition, the badges will also be available at till points in all Scottish Celtic Stores (excluding Glasgow Airport), as well as the Belfast Store, as of Saturday, May 8 – in return for popping £2 in cash into one of our collection units.
As we look ahead to Scott’s final match at Celtic Park versus St. Johnstone on Wednesday, May 12, fans are being encouraged to honour our Captain fantastic by leaving their tributes in the form of jerseys, flags, banners, etc. via collection points this weekend (10am-4pm from Saturday, May 8 – Monday, May 10).
Our badge offers an opportunity for supporters to pick up the perfect Broony memento at the Superstore, while dropping off their tributes to Scott, as we continue to mark the phenomenal contribution of a true Celtic Legend.
We have been blessed with Scott’s passion, commitment, talent and leadership for a magnificent 14 years, which saw the Celtic Captain win 10 Scottish Premiership titles – including the historic 9-in-a-row run – six Scottish Cups and six Scottish League Cups.
In addition, he has also been an extraordinary and constant supporter of the Foundation. His presence has been phenomenal in respect of both our fundraising efforts and project delivery and we will be forever grateful to him.
Net proceeds from the sale of the badges will be devoted to two charities close to Scott Brown’s heart – Celtic FC Foundation’s Football for Good Fund (FFGF) and Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC). Scott’s second child, Sonny, was born prematurely and was under the incredible care of the hospital for a period of three months.
We launched the FFGF in March 2020, to alleviate the evolving complications of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, thanks to the Celtic support, the Fund has risen to over £1million and we have worked with a host of partner organisations, to provide vital and urgent support in the form of food and essentials to thousands of vulnerable children, families, individuals, pensioners, refugees, the homeless, those living in refuge and NHS frontline staff. To complement this provision, the FFGF is now also focusing on challenging fuel poverty and providing mental health support.
ECHC exist to transform the experiences of children and young people in hospital so they can be a child first and a patient second. They provide a range of vital services for children who are having treatment at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh, and their families. These include a seven day per week arts programme; a hospital youth work service; and a grants programme which funds enhancements, distractions and life-saving equipment.
